Revolutionary War
soldier John Britton's gravesite marker was rededicated
in a beautiful ceremony on June 11, 2006, at Horton Cemetery, on Gale
Road, in Atlas Township, Goodrich, Michigan. John Britton was born in
NY, in 1755, and died in Atlas, Michigan, on May 20, 1846. His brother William

Revolutionary War
soldier William Britton's gravesite was marked by
the Genesee Chapter, NSDAR, on September 22, 1939. A grave stone was obtained by our
chapter from the Veteran's Administration and placed in June 2006. He was born
in 1749 and died in 1844. His brother John is also buried in
Horton Cemetery, on Gale Road, in Atlas

soldier Altamont Donaldson Sr. is buried at Fenton, Genesee County.
Genesee Chapter, NSDAR, marked his gravesite in 1915. He was born in 1763 and
died in 1847 in Genesee County.

soldier Charles Stewart is buried in Glenwood Cemetery, Flint, Genesee
County, MI. Genesee Chapter, NSDAR, marked his gravesite in 1926. He
was born in 1763 and died in Genesee County, Michigan, in 1837.

Revolutionary War Lieutenant Peter
Woodin is buried in Swartz Creek Cemetery, Genesee County
Flint, Michgan. Genesee Chapter, NSDAR, marked his gravesite in 1926. He
was born in 1760 and died in Genesee County, Michigan, in 1854.

In 1972, "Heritage Day," was observed by
marking the grave of Revolutionary War soldier George Carpenter at the Goodrich
Cemetery. Seventy-two chapter members, DAR state officers,
and descendants of Mr. Carpenter attended. He was born
in 1757 and died in 1859. Served in the 2nd Regiment,
New York Artillery. |
